Frankenstein 200th Anniversary

In response to the ISTD Anniversaries typography brief, I created a series of 3 posters to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. This series of three A2 posters attempt to communicate some of the debatable themes in the novel that are still relevant in our contemporary society.

The main concept behind the design of these posters is the use of fragmented and contrasting typefaces to generate a feeling of incompleteness and a reference to the Creature’s body, which was pieced together with dead body parts. I have used multiple Gothic Black Letter typefaces, Modern typefaces, as well as illuminated type to create this feeling. The use of bold greens and pinks, along with the short playful quotes, will hopefully bring a new sensation to this classic monster novel.
